Robert Adams
Adams was born in 1937, so was probably doing his graduate work in the early 1960s. I don't, however, find him listed anywhere on the Review of Metaphysics lists of doctorates granted. I know he was teaching at Michigan by 1970.

If I remember correctly, the preface to _The Virtue of Faith_ states it was Nelson Pike (at Cornell?).
He is definitely a Cornell PhD, but I don't know his supervisor.
Marilyn Adams states in God and the Philosophers that she and her husband Bob left for Michigan from Cornell. The job offer (for Bob only) came in October, 1968. They both had PhDs by then. Incidentally, she doesn't say explicity who her dissertation advisor was, but it sounds like it could be Nelson Pike.
I've found a second to pull the book off the shelf and check my memory: "My teachers in philosophy, John Marsh and John Hick, and my _Doktorvater_, Nelson Pike, will recognize in some of the papers ideas on which I was working under their tutelage." -preface to _The Virtue of Faith_
