Herbert Heidelberger

Heidelberger taught at UMass [thanks to Ben for the correction] from 1967 until his death at 1982. I don't know how far prior to 1967 he received his doctorate (there are publications going back at least to 1963), or where he received it. Anyone know anything more?

Heidelberger taught at UMass actually. Richard Feldman worked with him. Here's a link to the last 36 years of info about UMass degrees, in case it is helpful.

Don't know when or where Heidelberger got his degree though.

Sorry, that link didn't work. Just go to www.umass.edu/philosophy and look for the placement page, if you want that information.

Ben,

Oops. I knew that, really I did. Thanks for the pointer to the UMass degree list. I've got some of that entered in already, and the rest will show up soon.

Great info from the Brothers Feldman:

Rich: I learned the following, from my brother, who found the text of some things Chisholm said at a memorial conference for Herb. Fred reports,

He (Chisholm) says that Herb was born on April 28, 1933. (I think he went to the City University of New York for his BA, but I am not sure and Chisholm does not say.) He got has MA from Minnesota in 1958. Then he went to Princeton where he got his PhD in 62. He started at Brown in
61 and left in 67. He stayed at UMass from 67 until his death on May 25, 1982.

I am looking for some good "genealogy records" resources for our ratings and review websites and believe it or not, yours popped up when I searched for "genealogy records" blogs. After reading your posts, I can see why Google led me to your site. Even though it's not what I am looking for, I'm glad I stopped long enough to read your posts. Just thought you'd like to know….. thanks
