Oets Kolk Bouwsma
Bouwsma was born in 1898, and began teaching at the University of Nebraska in 1928, remaining there until 1968. He was then at the University of Texas until his death in 1978.

The obituary for his son lists his place of birth in Michigan which would have been in around 1924, so my best guess is that OK was a Michigan PhD.
Yes, Uncle Oets received his PhD from U of Michigan in 1928. His sister was my mother-in-law. He was a sweet old guy I wish I'd had a chance to know better. Sue Yurick, Rockford, MI
